Now that the much-anticipated remake of THE EVIL DEAD is currently in progress, words has already out that Lily Collins (ABDUCTION, MIRROR MIRROR)is confirmed to be the lead for the female version of Ashley J. Williams (Ash) -- the iconic role once immortalized by Bruce Campbell in the original trilogy.
In the remake, Collins will play Mia, who is one of the five friends (David, Natalie, Eric and Olivia) who ends up at a remote cabin where they discover a Book of the Dead with an evil force unleashed possessing each of them until only one is left to fight for survival.
Apart from gender change in the leading role, the remake will also features a drug subplot.
THE EVIL DEAD is set to hit theaters on April 12, 2013.
